Imperial Heritage

Once offered
to the Imperial Court.

Koyanagi Farm holds the distinction of having supplied rice to Japan's Imperial Household — a recognition reserved for only the rarest farms producing the nation's most exceptional grain.

This is not a marketing claim. It is a tradition, a responsibility, and a standard that shapes every harvest.

The Origin

A fertilizer expert's
lifelong obsession
with the perfect grain.

The founder of Koyanagi Farm did not begin as a rice farmer. He spent decades as a fertilizer specialist — studying soil chemistry, mineral balance, and the precise conditions that allow crops to reach their true potential.

When he turned that expertise to rice cultivation, the result was extraordinary: years of testing, refinement, and an unwillingness to compromise — until the rice earned its place among Japan's finest.

Why It's Different

Four reasons this rice
cannot be replicated.

Every grain of Koyanagi rice carries the weight of decades of soil science, relentless testing, and an uncompromising commitment to a standard the market rarely demands — and even more rarely achieves.

01

Soil Science from the Source

The founder's background in fertilizer chemistry means the soil at Koyanagi is not farmed — it is engineered. Each mineral ratio tuned to the varietal and the season.

02

Decades of Refinement

The recipe for Kazasayaka was not discovered — it was earned through years of trial, failure, and incremental improvement. No shortcuts were taken.

03

Deliberately Limited in Japan

In Japan, Koyanagi rice is available only through Akomeya Tokyo — one of Japan's most respected curators of artisan rice. Exclusivity is a feature, not a constraint.

04

Rare in America

In the United States, carried exclusively by Ichika and Kinzo in Dallas — chosen for their alignment with uncompromising quality standards.

The Varieties

Three expressions of the same dedication.

Each product reflects a different character — from the light clarity of Kazasayaka white, to the nutty depth of Kazasayaka brown, to the timeless richness of Koshihikari.

Koyanagi rice is available through a handful of carefully selected partners — restaurants and retailers whose standards align with how this rice was grown. These are not the only places we could supply. They are the places we chose.

Quality Over Reach

Every bag of Koyanagi rice represents a finite harvest. Limiting distribution ensures every customer receives rice at its peak.

Personal Accountability

Each partner is known by name. We know how they store, display, and present the product. That relationship is non-negotiable.

Rarity by Design

Finding this rice should feel like a discovery. That's not scarcity for its own sake — it's respect for what was grown.

Wholesale & Distribution
